Full-time/Non-Exempt

Hourly Wage: $20.41-$31.88

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday
  • On Call Rotation (Technicians are on call for 1 week at a time, Monday at 8am-the following Monday at 8am)

Summary: This Fire Technician II will install, program, maintain, and repair fire alarm wiring and equipment. This position will ensure the work performed is under relevant codes.

Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items.

  • Installation of new system and equipment
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and program new and existing fire alarm systems
  • Perform system testing and inspections on fire alarm systems
  • Complete electronic work orders, reports, and a variety of electronic documents
  • Obtain and remain current on licensing requirements
  • Adapt to new systems and provide training to others, including mentoring other technicians
  • Program alarm systems
  • Work on other system types if needed
  • Work toward continuous quality improvement
  • Stay current with changing technology, including software and field services programs
  • Other duties must be performed as assigned or required

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or minimum two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Applicants for this Fire Alarm Technician II position should have or be prepared to obtain their level II NICET certification or ESA Equivalent.
  • State of Iowa Fire Alarm License
  • Valid State Driver's License

Must be able to pass a background check.

Physical requirements are lifting up to 50lbs, standing for long periods of time, and reaching with your hands or arms for an extended period of time.

 

Compensation

$20.41-$31.88 per hour
